When you are creating a New Party Group there are two China's available

1. China - CNY
2. Chinese Renminbi Yuan - RMB

I believe that only option 2 is needed for currency in China (RMB)

This is not clear to me.

When reading http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chinese_currency it seems you are right.

But I have a client who is using CNY in China mainland and HKD in Hong Kong, what is right ? And I always listen about Yan here in France when speaking about Chinese currency (which seems false if I refer to Wikipedia)

Please Refer to ISO4217: http://www.iso.org/iso/support/faqs/faqs_widely_used_standards/widely_used_standards_other/currency_codes/currency_codes_list-1.htm
So, you should use CNY not RMB
