I totally agree with
bq. If there is a vision for this, please share it with the community. It does not make sense to be unspecific and mystical if you want to have these changes accepted.
Recently James's, Taher"s and Michael's exchanges on dev ML about Tomcat ("Loading standard web application") shows how much good explanations and sharing can help to get to a better result.
But I don't totally agree with
bq. As said earlier, I don't think it is a good idea to replace context specific labels with common labels. It reduces the flexibility to translate labels differently in different contexts and applications. We discussed this earlier and the conclusion was to avoid this.
There are cases that this is indeed true. But I found that most of the time we face duplication and simply need to merge translations and put them at the upper level. It was typically the case here... so far...
