Updating the build and log sites?

Tim Ruppert
Since we've now migrated the most difficult part of our
infrastructure, i think it's time to discuss a few of the other main
components:

1. Daily Builds
-- I think that Gavin has this setup already.
-- I'm not sure if they are exactly the same as we have now, but he
used those as specs.

2. Daily Logs
-- If this isn't setup, then it should be easy to get it setup along
with the build process.

3. Daily API builds
-- Not sure if this is setup yet.

4. bigfiles.ofbiz.org

5. Anything else?

Cheers,
Ruppert

Re: Updating the build and log sites?

Tim Ruppert
I think we're going to shut down this server at the end of the month
since the biggest and most difficult thing to migrate - confluence -
has been taken care of already (thanks for that everyone involved).  I
would like to have people that use these services that we set up to be
a part of testing them on the new servers.  Here is some information
about what Gavin has already setup to mirror what we were doing:

https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/INFRA-1877

Let me know your thoughts.

Cheers,
Ruppert

This all sounds great Tim.

Also, thanks again to Hotwax and Contegix for hosting this infrastructure for the project for so long.

Does anyone care about these other services?  I'm just wondering because if not, then we can switch this server off right away and build these back up when there is demand on the ASF infra?  Thoughts (and volunteers) would be helpful, so please let me know.

Hi Tim,

As you already know I asked for this in Februar and I have already answered that it cant be left for now.
As you suggested I will be happy though to have it back on ASF infra.

This is only my opinion, maybe other people use it now ?

I think it's already up there too Jacques.  If you can point people to where Gavin put it all, I can also see about getting people to move over the look and feel to the ASF infra sometime soon!

Right, a (problematic) example http://ci.apache.org/builders/ofbiz-trunk/builds/1986/steps/compile_1/logs/stdio

Actually all come from the waterfall http://ci.apache.org/waterfall?show=ofbiz-trunk (the link above comes from stdio) as Gavin
explained at
https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/INFRA-1877?focusedCommentId=12735266&page=com.atlassian.jira.plugin.system.issuetabpanels%3Acomment-tabpanel#action_12735266
(but the links there are wrong now, anyway waterfall is enough)

Ha no, it's not exactly the same. What I was looking for is the runtime log like we have at http://log.ofbiz.org/
For the moment as https://ofbiz-vm.apache.org:8443 is not working we can't have any runtime logs..
I filled a Jira for that https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/INFRA-2354
I think it's not Gavin priority, nor mine I must say...

Re: Updating the build and log sites?

Tim Ruppert
So, it looks like we're close for the build and the log can be dropped IMHO:

1. is to script the moving of the first of month archives
2. and the removal of all other builds older than 30 days.

Here's the info on api.ofbiz.org:

http://ci.apache.org/projects/ofbiz/site/javadocs/index.html

In addition, we have RAT reports checking on your license headers.

http://ci.apache.org/projects/ofbiz/rat-output.txt

This needs refinement though and could do with ofbiz putting in an excludes
file in your svn that buildbot can use to make a more accurate picture.

The only major thing left is to check on the demo servers getting ported.  If those are over there, than I think we're good to go.  We will get the apache redirects in place soon.

Cheers,
Ruppert

Re: Updating the build and log sites?

Hi Tim,

For the page http://ci.apache.org/projects/ofbiz/snapshots/index.html
If possible it would be great to have also the runtime logs accessible. I guess it's possible but I'm not sure where to find them on ofbiz-vm.apache.org
We need to say that java 1.6 must be used with trunk and may be used with R9.04 though 1.5 is OK
I saw Gavin works on our archives this morning...

We will need to ask for R9.04 and R4.0 also I guess?

Thanks

So, it looks like we're close for the build and the log can be dropped IMHO:

    http://ci.apache.org/projects/ofbiz/snapshots/index.html

    Still to do here:
    1. is to script the moving of the first of month archives
    2. and the removal of all other builds older than 30 days.

Tim Ruppert
Jacques, we've committed these to the ofbizext repository that we provide for the project.  I can commit them into the OFBiz repo if we decide on a place, but for now, you can see them here:

https://svn.hotwaxmedia.com/svn/ofbizext

Cheers,
Ruppert

Re: Updating the build and log sites?

In reply to this post by Tim Ruppert
Hi Tim,

I know it's now in site but it seems the login/pwd couple has changed for svn.hotwaxmedia.com. I notably try to use
https://svn.hotwaxmedia.com/svn/ofbizext/selenium this morning without success. I used to use admin/ofbiz (not quite sure)

Thanks

Jacques, we've committed these to the ofbizext repository that we provide for the project.  I can commit them into the OFBiz repo if
we decide on a place, but for now, you can see them here:

https://svn.hotwaxmedia.com/svn/ofbizext

Cheers,
Ruppert
